Apply UAE Family Visa

Family Members Residence Visa Requirements.

To sponsor family members to the UAE, the following criteria must be met:

  • Male expatriates must earn at least AED 4,000 per month or AED 3,000 per month plus housing
  • Female expatriates must earn a minimum of AED 10,000 per month or AED 8,000 per month plus housing

Additionally, all family members aged 18 or older must pass a medical fitness test at a Government-Approved health center in the UAE. The test will include screenings for HIV and Tuberculosis.

Who is Eligible for a UAE Family Visa?

It is generally more straightforward for male expatriates to sponsor family members for a UAE Family Visa than it is for female expatriates. If you are a male expatriate holding a Residence Visa in the UAE, you may sponsor the following family members for a Family Visa:

Your Wife: If you are a Muslim resident, you may also sponsor up to two wives, subject to certain conditions.

Your Sons: You may sponsor your sons if they are 18 years old or younger. If your sons are over 18, you may still sponsor them as long as they are students and under the age of 21. Additionally, sons over 18 must enter the UAE at least once every six months if they are studying abroad, or their UAE visa will be cancelled.

Your Daughters: You may sponsor your daughters, provided they are unmarried.

Your Parents: You may also sponsor your parents, but you must meet the following conditions:
 • You sponsor both parents unless one of them has passed away
• You pay a deposit of AED 2,500 as a guarantee for each parent (this fee is subject to change, and you should check with the corresponding immigration department)
• You get your parents a Medical Insurance Policy.
• You have a monthly salary of AED 20,000 or a AED 19,000 plus a two-bedroom accommodation.

Is it Possible for a Woman to Sponsor Family Members for a UAE Family Visa?

Yes, it is possible, but the requirements for a woman to sponsor family members for a UAE Family Visa are more stringent than those for a man:

• The family members a woman can sponsor are her husband and her children.
• She must have a minimum monthly salary of AED 10,000 or AED 8,000 plus housing
• She must be employed as an engineer, teacher, or in a profession related to the medical field (such as a doctor or nurse)
• In certain cases, and with approval from the DRND, a woman may be able to sponsor family members even if she does not work in one of the aforementioned fields, if she has a sufficient monthly salary
• If the woman’s husband is able to sponsor the children instead, she will not be able to do so herself. The sponsorship must be done by the husband.
