This number is needed to identify someone entering the UAE fand can be used to access immigration data. Where Can I find my UID?

UID number is automatically assigned by the immigration office. So, if you are on a visit visa, you can check your UID number on the Visit Visa Paper provided to you.

If You are a Resident in UAE, you can locate the UID Number on the top right corner of your stamped Visa.

 

What is UID used for?

 

UID is the first and foremost identity before applying for Residence Visa or Emirates ID. Without having a UID Number, you cannot apply for a Residence Visa or Emirates Identity Card.

 

Can a person be Issued multiple UID Numbers?

Yes, if an expat visited UAE on tourist visa, he must have been assigned a UID number. For example, the same person came back to UAE on visit after a period of 5 years, he may automatically get another UID issued due to system error.

However, if you have been mistakenly issued multiple UID Numbers, they must be merged for immigration records to be reconciled or there will be duplicate records in the immigration system, this will cause problems entering and leaving the UAE and applying for a residency visa.

Multiple UID numbers must be combined to verify immigration records. To merge the UID number, you need to submit the original passport and the UID number available on your visa copies to merge to the Immigration Department.
